Challenge
The streaming video market is fragmented with hundreds of individual streaming content providers offering their own individual apps. As a result, it’s pretty confusing and time-consuming to browse a wide range of sources and search for the specific requested viewing content.
The client turned to Intellectsoft to provide users with a web and mobile application that will simplify the searching process. Our team was selected to develop a solution that aggregates content from various streaming providers into one place so users can find what they are looking for as well as specifies the platform where it’s possible to find it.
Solution
Intellectsoft created a POC application with fast and flexible search as this solution matches data from various sources to one data model. The progressive app with a comprehensive desktop version includes a menu bar for better content and search visibility, a section-based home page with personalized options, all-in-one search components, playlists, and a selection section for deep personalization, and so many more for a better user experience.
BackEnd architecture and estimations are based on Java Technical Stack and JVM-based runtime. Frontend architecture is based on React and React Native has been used for building a mobile cross-platform application. We used a single code base to reduce development costs and ensure the highest level of quality.
Impact
Our team has been actively involved in the project and we developed the solution prototype that became a modern and scalable foundation for the client’s business. It enabled them to receive the required funding to further invest in the development of the application beta-version and the MVP that will be presented to end-users for simplified and streamlined video content search.
